This lovingly designed contemporary space is a wonderful addition to The Woodlands' dining scene. Restaurateur Cary Attar and his chef, Edelberto Goncalves, have built on their success with Fielding's Wood Grill with a more ambitious menu, and they're even dry-aging their own steaks in-house, with glorious results. (Ask for the steaks a la carte.) Good local ingredients and Goncalves' French training shine in such simple, immaculate dishes as pan-roasted chicken with butternut squash in a mustard pan sauce that sings; or an airy, crisp pizza topped Alsatian tarte-flambé-style, with thick-cut bacon cubes, caramelized onion, crème fraîche and melted leeks. That's destination-quality stuff. 26400 Kuykendahl in The Woodlands, 281-351-2225;fieldingslocal.com
